Welcome to Mennonite Church British Columbia – The Westcoast Anabaptist Network!

We are delighted that you are exploring your call and whether you will find ministry in MCBC a good fit for you. As you begin this process of discernment, we hope to help you with understanding and exploring who we are as a Mennonite Church.

To begin, we request that you follow the 2-step process outlined below.

Step 1: Complete the following application form so we are able to better understand you as a pastor. Feel free to take your time with your reflections and answers, the form should save your work if you need to come back to it later.

Step 2: When all the documents from Step 1 have been received and the form has been submitted, the Church Leadership Minister (CLM) will read the complete file and initiate a follow-up conversation with you. Depending on your responses, the CLM will invite you to take further steps of engaging in ministry with us.

Please select "Next" when you are ready to begin filling out your application.

Please read the following documents, and respond to the below questions in response to the readings. These questions reflect our responsibility to congregations to review candidates so that we can provide some guidance as to suitability for ministry within MCBC. Your effort is valued.

These documents are very significant in
sharing with others our current understandings:
Confession of Faith in A Mennonite Perspective 1995
A Shared Understanding of Ministerial Leadership: Polity Manual for Mennonite Church Canada
Mennonite World Conference 7 Shared Convictions

If you have been in in active ministry we request a letter of reference from your denomination/faith
tradition describing your ministry and pastoral standing. If you come from a denominational structure
we expect this letter from your conference minister (or equivalent). If you have been part of an
independent congregation, a reference from a leader to whom you have been accountable and who
has insight into the ministry you have provided will suffice.

Anything else you think we should know? Please provide context here:
